UNSIL World Fair
The MPS UNSIL curriculum is a comprehensive educational program designed to engage students from 4th to 8th grade in global learning through the lens of the United Nations.

UNSIL World Fair 2026: Thursday, May 14th
District-Wide STEAM Fair
Student projects harness advanced math and engineering concepts to address real-world challenges through topics that spark their curiosity. Entries fall into three categories: Science Inquiry (answering a question), Engineering Design (solving a problem), and Research Study (for high school students only).
New this year, we added an Art component, inviting students to collaboratively build a cardboard city using recycled materials—blending creativity with sustainability. We also introduced Agriculture tours of the Vincent farm, giving students a hands-on look at how science and environmental stewardship intersect in realworld
food systems.
This exciting event is made possible by the generous support of GE HealthCare, underscoring how the creative problem-solving and critical thinking on display continues to attract the attention of leading employers eager to invest in Milwaukee’s future STEAM talent.
Celebration of Scholars
In 2025, the MPS Foundation proudly awarded over $230,000 in scholarships to outstanding students from 14 Milwaukee high schools—celebrating the vibrant diversity that defines our city.
This year’s scholarship class is inspiring: 96% are students of color, 82% will be the first in their families to attend college, and many are from immigrant and refugee communities. These students are headed into fields like engineering, nursing, business, biomedical sciences, fashion, and the arts—ready to shape the future.
With over 900 applications for just 55 scholarships, this year marked a new record. That incredible interest is fueled by strong collaboration with MPS staff and community partners, all working together to expand access to college prep and opportunities.
