FORE MKE’s FUTURE Golf Outing Recap + Photos

The mission of fostering academic excellence and equitable access to education for every MPS kid continues to power through the summer season—even after “break mode” sets in. On Wednesday, June 26th, the MPS Foundation held its inaugural Golf Outing at Brown Deer Golf Course. The Golf Outing supported numerous programs and services supported by the MPS Foundation such as classroom resources, STEM initiatives, learning journeys, scholarships, and other vital programming.

The first FORE MKE’s FUTURE Golf Outing was a blast, with 55 people coming out to support which helped us raise an impressive $20,000.00 in critical funds. The morning tournament provided an exciting day of golf, comradery, and a platform for individuals and businesses to advance quality education in Milwaukee. We saw people from all walks of life show up, from educators, community members and leaders, friends, alumni, and faith-based leaders unite to support this inaugural event. This event would not have been possible without our lead Champion Level Sponsor: Imagine Learning. Thank you to them and all our sponsors for your investment in Milwaukee’s future!

After a tasty breakfast provided by Ascension and Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital, the more than 50 golfers got ready on the Putting Green and Driving Range thanks to sponsors Boys & Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee and Jackie Herd-Barber. Then, after a short welcome from Willie Jude II and Brown Deer’s Golf Pro, the 18 Hole Scramble began on a beautiful 70-degree sunny day! Afterward, lunch was served which was made possible by Forward Together Wisconsin, followed by awards and a mini auction. Prizes included a signed jersey from Damian Lillard of the Bucks and a signed football from Romeo Doubs of the Packers. Both were graciously donated directly from the Milwaukee Bucks and Green Bay Packers.

In addition to MPS Foundation staff and board members, a coalition of volunteers stepped up to make the day possible. We want to give them a shout-out here: Ericca Pollack (MPS), Parice Beckley (MPS Alumna), Connor Grossnickel (College Possible), Jon Goltz (College Possible), Konita Jude (MPS Alumna), Joi Jude (Gateway Technical College), Aimee Burlee (Imagine Learning), Paige Arnold (Imagine Learning), Hannah Esselman-Calton (Imagine Learning), and Marla Borman (Imagine Learning).

If you missed this Golf Outing, you might be feeling left out… but it is coming back in 2025 with expansion plans! Make sure to sign up for our e-newsletter, and like us on Facebook, LinkedIn, and X to stay tuned for the save-the-date announcement.
